“OBJECTS AND ENVIRONMENTS OF THE PAST FUTURE”
Sergio Cappelli and Patricia Ranzo, architects, live and work in Naples.
His work in the field of design in recent years has focused on the Mediterranean theme, in search of natural roots and traditions. This research, as well as theoretical work, has resulted in a collection of objects and environments which include: the table clock that projects the time on the wall (”Atelier Bouveau Competition” Prize, Seibu, Japan, 1986), shelves with Mediterranean plants, animal proposals, mirror trophies, etc.
In our projects, stainless steel and volcanic rock, mirrors and chromed metal, the inlays of maple and cherry wood imitating giraffe skin, the “tuff” stones embedded in white marble as if it were fossil, are some of the materials through which we represent a theoretical Mediterranean character, almost abstract and literary.
