Marieta. Small textile business
In the exhibitions dedicated to the suppliers of Vinçon could not miss Marieta, a small textile business of great importance. Maria Cardoner, with her passion for fabrics and her special sensitivity for colors, revolutionized the panorama of the time with home textiles.
She visited painter’s studios, removed originals and concepts and presented collections that dressed the houses with light and color. Javier Mariscal, Xano Armenter, Silvia Gubern, Juma, Peret, Perico Pastor were some of the authors of her designs. It was enough for Maria to look at a painting to compose the pattern and the colors she wanted in her prints, jacquards and carpets.
Vinçon and Marieta hit it off immediately, the store even had a space just for her fabrics where successfully sold all her avant-garde proposals in the eighties and early nineties.
Marieta’s company spread throughout Spain, Europe and also triumphed in Japan, where Javier Mariscal’s prints and Maria’s energy and vitality delighted the Japanese.
