Els Simenon
Ricard Giralt Miracle
25/09/03. (Sala 216)
Not long ago, among the papers in the archive of Ricard Giralt Miracle (1911-1994), his sons Pau and Daniel discovered a collection of Simenon book covers that Giralt Miracle had illustrated between the 1940s and 1950s, commissioned by the publisher Aymá and printed by his own printing house, Filograf.
“These 72 covers had the strength of poster art, the strokes of expressionism, cubist composition, the mystery of surrealism and the advertising illustration of those years,” his sons say.
Half a century later, they are on display at La Sala Vinçon during the Year of Design.
