200 fotografías Polaroid
Bigas Luna
03/06/75. (Sala 039)
Having just bought his Polaroid SX’70 camera, Bigas Luna also buys 20 packs of 10 photographs each, thus obtaining the 200 photographs that he exhibits at La Sala Vinçon. An inventory of his daily life.
He places them in series of four, forming a square and framed. All of them correspond to portraits, except for four that correspond to buildings. They are photographs without makeup, without plastic intention, but show the characters or places in a natural way.
The people portrayed belong to three types: “la crème progre” of Barcelona (Bohigas, L. Pomés, Toni Miró, Chelo Sastre, Midu…); Spanish political figures of the time (Franco, Barrera de Irimo, Cortina Mauri…) and international (Gral. Prats, Gral. Espinola, Sir Jeremy Thorpe, Giscard, Margareth Thatcher…).
Each photograph has a caption indicating: name, place and time the photo was taken, and the address and name of the author, as well as the serial number of each photo.
