Wolf Vostell
28/02/74. (Sala 018)
Exhibition held at the stage when Vostell was interested in covering elements in cement, as an act of protest on a visual level.
The object/drawings that made up the series were placed in thick black wooden frames, covered by a glass. The works were consecutively numbered, they were quite small in size and they were perfectly lined up straight along the gallery walls.
The work consisted in displaying a photograph that reproduced a scene or element that implied violence: a bullfighter struggling with a bull, a policeman beating a knocked down youth, a sheet that reproduces the story of the killing of the Jews in Aragon in 1395; it covered part of the scene with a non-transparent screen and in the unreveiled part it included some element of drawing, a type of constructive element.
