Residue

In collaboration with the Carles Poy Gallery
From 20 February 1992 – 14 March.
The fact that La Sala Vinçon, a spave linked to the design field in Barcelona, invites a gallery of contemporary art, represented by one of its artists, creates an interesting link which is not new, but which rarely occurs between art and cutting edge design. Design and art have often been fed by the same creative sources as far as shape and concept are concerned and has been the case throughout our culture in this century.
The Carles Poy Gallery has a strict and consistent approach that defends art, being therefore in a position of risk in front of what the current art market is. Hence, it can be hugely beneficial to both parts to emphasize the fact that a space that is at the midpoint between the market and creation to propose an exhibition of an artist who works sculptures and installations.
Peter Hone, the artist, takes over the hall and, using materials found in Vinçon, integrates his work titled “Residue” in this space so that the materials and creation play together actively.
From this relationship between design, art and space, the artist creates a reflection between objects like design and design objects used in art.
