There have always been many ways of sitting, some are the direct consequence of the seat used.
New seats have provoked new postures but at the same time the disappearance of some typologies of furniture have not found the corresponding substitutes.
Before the plague of café bars, there were places where drinks were consumed closer to the floor than now. Customers used to sit on “poufs” but fashion got the better of them and they ended up becoming the prototype of tacky furniture par excellence.
Carlos Riart was asked to dignify the pouf once again, to design a small, discreet piece that could fit in among its big brothers, sofas and armchairs, but that was not a footrest.
The result has been as rounded as its shape. Bombón integrates very well both in the home and in the public space. Its ingenious backrest system built with fiberglass rods gives it exceptional comfort, in many cases superior to the sofas that surround it. Its five casters give it such agility that it can become the most desirable seat in a living room.
Push it gently with your foot to move it out of the way, “ride” on it to get closer to the fireplace, make a half-turn to get away from your fellow guests and talk on the phone, etc. New uses, new postures appear again.
No wonder we surprised Carlos Riart sitting on a Bombón with his feet on a sofa.
